Excellent Printer February 6, 2010 Beware In a system with MS Windows XP Professional, I had a Canon PIXMA 780 printer some 5 or 6 years old which recently passed away, for the last time. As a result, I decided to buy the printer HP Officejet 6500 Model E709a, at a fraction of the cost which I paid for the Cannon printer, with all the same options and faster than the Canon printer.
I would like to share with you that, in spite of no hardcopy User Guide (a minus partly overcome with softcopy manuals), the HP printer installed very easily and seems to be a real pleasure to work with, deserving the five star that I am giving it.
I may add that I bought it through Amazon from Adorama, another excellent point (I had the product in less than three days, shipped for free).

Excellent printer February 6, 2010 Lorrie Palmer (Unadilla, NY United States) This printer was easy to set up, and has many great features. The print quality is excellent, and the speed is very good.
Love it! January 31, 2010 D. James (Orange County, CA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I was interested in finding an affordable all in one printer for home use. This printer fit the bill for me. I have everything at fingertips without leaving my home since I'm disabled. I can copy, scan, and fax besides printing. It is not top quality for scanning, etc., but is sufficient for my use. I had an earlier model before this. This updated model is much faster and better quality.
If you read and follow instructions, no problem. January 25, 2010 Lee Wyrick I bought a Windows 7 computer and needed to replace my HP Officejet 6210 because of compatibility issues. Reading a lot of these reviews was scary, but considering my good experience with the 6210 for three years, I bought it. As I usually find to be the case, installation was successful and everything is working with no problems, including faxing outbound on VOIP. So far, it's worked great without slowing down the fax speed as I did on the 6210. Here's the key to the installation, and is true most of the time in my experience: Read the instructions, pop-ups, etc. -- every tiny word -- slowly and carefully and do exactly what it says. There were several places where I found things and thought, "That guy in the review who couldn't get the fax to work didn't read this part." For example, I use Zone Alarm and very explicit, step-by-step instructions are provided when installing the software to set the firewall correctly. If you don't read those, the networked printer won't work. Bottom line, the printer is faxing, scanning, converting to pdf, copying, printing just fine and dandy. And, really, the printing is pretty fast for an inkjet. If you don't have the patience to read every single line of instruction, perhaps it would be better to find a competent friend who does to install the printer for you.

not what i expected from hp. this printer took forever load the programs on my computer.once it did i thought it never would start the print process, and once it finally did, the printer moved all over the desk"well, you know what i mean", it shook the whole desk when the print carriage started to move. did not like it at all.... sent it back, and replaced it with a canon mx860.. it works great
